The City of Charleston Office of Public Art—joined by Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin, the Briar Hills Garden Club, and Jonathan Cox—dedicated the Riverflow sculpture at City Center at Slack Plaza. The installation celebrates the power of public art and the ongoing collaboration to create spaces that are welcoming, vibrant, and reflective of our community.
The City of Charleston will host its final Here to Serve community meeting at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Mathes Hall on Thursday, May 1, 2025. In addition, Mayor Goodwin and members of the City Team will continue door-to-door outreach through Charleston Walks, speaking directly with neighbors and gathering input.
The City of Charleston Office of Public Art recognized the winners of the 2025 Charleston Youth Art Month Juried Exhibition during an awards ceremony held at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. Selected from among 286 submitted pieces, the winning artworks stood out for their originality, creativity, overall design, and composition.
Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin today announced the City of Charleston is accepting applications for the Mayor’s Summer Youth Jobs Program (MSYJP). Positions are available through Community Services (Events), Charleston Fire Department, Human Resources, Parking Operations, Parks & Recreation, Public Art, Public Grounds, Spring Hill Cemetery, and Traffic Operations.
