MAYOR ANNOUNCES SMALL BUSINESS INVESTMENT GRANT RECIPIENTS

(Charleston, W. Va.) – Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin today announced 18 businesses have been awarded Small Business Investment Grants totaling $143,116.92. To date, nearly $957,000 has been awarded as part of this grant program.

“Our local businesses contribute to our economy, culture, and character – while also providing unique experiences and fostering relationships within our community,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin.  “We are thrilled we can continue to support our local businesses through the Small Business Investment Grant program.”  

Businesses awarded funding include:

  • Charleston Nano Brewery, $10,000
  • Charleston Pediatric Dentistry, $7,848.75
  • Chic LLC, $10,000
  • FM Pile Hardware Co., $5,000
  • Good Shepherd Child Development Center, $10,000
  • Hands on Daycare, $10,000
  • Herban Health LLC DBA Daily Dose Café, $5,879
  • Kash Kuttz, $4,000
  • Mountain State Distillers, $2,104.39
  • Oh La Lucy LLC, $5,284.78
  • Reed Dental DBA Bloom Family Dentistry, $10,000
  • School of River City Youth Ballet, $10,000
  • Snack Institute , $10,000

Small Business Investment Grant funding supports a variety of projects – including broadband connectivity, marketing, advertising, demolition projects, construction of exterior and interior surfaces and more. Project work must be started within six months of the grant award and must be completed within one year. The maximum annual grant award for any one business is $10,000 and grant recipients must match any award amount by 25 percent.
