MAYOR GOODWIN ANNOUNCES ROD RUN & DOO WOP CAR SHOW TO RETURN

Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin announced today the 14th annual Charleston Boulevard Rod Run & Doo Wop Car Show, which brings in visitors from across the country, will take place October 2 – 6, 2019. Event partners, Home Depot and Cabela’s will host a cruise-in at 200 Cross Terrace Blvd. October 2 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. prior to the car show moving to the boulevard October 3 – 6.

“The City of Charleston is excited to host the Charleston Boulevard Rod Run & Doo Wop Car Show this year,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “When our team went door-to-door to talk to businesses across our city, we asked folks about the events that helped generate business. Time and again, we received positive feedback about the Rod Run & Doo Wop.”

In 2018, the show featured cars from 13 states and Canada. In 2015, a study from West Virginia State University showed that approximately 120,000 people attend the car show which resulted in an economic impact of more than $4.2 million dollars over four days.
