City Wide Cooling Centers Now Open Through Friday

In response to rising temperatures and heat advisories, the City of Charleston announces that cooling centers are open at the following community centers:

 

Roosevelt Neighborhood Center OPEN 12p-8p

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center OPEN 9a-9p

314 Donnally Street, Charleston, WV 25301

 

North Charleston Community Center OPEN 9a-9p

2009 7th Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387

 

Kanawha City Community Center OPEN 9a-9p

3511 Venable Avenue, Charleston, WV 25304

 

The centers will offer air conditioned shelter and cold water. We also remind the public that WV 2-1-1 is ready to help people facing difficulties. Our resource navigators can help connect individuals and families with food pantries, health care services, utility and eviction prevention assistance and more. Those seeking help should dial 2-1-1 or visit WV211.org.
