CITY ANNOUNCES 2026 TEAM UP TO CLEAN UP EVENTS

(Charleston, W.Va.) – The City of Charleston will host its annual Team Up to Clean Up events on April 18 and May 2, 2026, inviting residents, businesses, and organizations to take part in a citywide effort to clean and beautify Charleston’s neighborhoods. 

“Team Up to Clean Up is about people coming together and getting something done,” said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. “It’s a hands-on way to make a real impact in neighborhoods across Charleston.” 

Volunteers can participate individually or as part of a group, and the events are also a great opportunity for students and organizations seeking community service hours. 

Event Dates & Supply Pickup Locations 
 

April 18, 2026 
Areas: West Side, North Charleston, Bigley Avenue Area 
KRT Parking Lot – 441-449 Stockton Street 
Bigley Piggly Wiggly Parking Lot – 10 Spring Street 

 

May 2, 2026 
Areas: South Hills, East End, Kanawha City, Downtown 
George Washington High School – 1522 Tennis Club Road 
Kanawha City Piggly Wiggly Parking Lot – 5003 MacCorkle Avenue SE  

Clean-up supplies, t-shirts, snacks, and water will be provided. Participants who have litter pickers or gloves from previous events are encouraged to bring them, as supplies are limited. 

Individuals and groups are encouraged to register in advance by completing the online form, which includes the required Volunteer Waiver and Release. Paper forms will also be available at supply pickup locations on the day of each event. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
