REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 17th ANNUAL CHARLESTON WINTER SERIES

(Charleston, W. Va.) – The City of Charleston Parks and Recreation Department announced registration is open for the 17th Annual Charleston Winter Series.  The race series includes a 5k run/3k walk on December 14, 2025, an 8k run/4k walk on January 18, 2026, and ends with a 10k run/5k walk February 15, 2026. Participants who register for the series by December 14 and complete all three races will earn a commemorative hoodie.  

REGISTRATION

Registration can be completed at charlestonwinterseries.com.  

• Registration fees are: $40 (single race), $90 (full series), and $30 (full series – student).  
• To receive a hoodie, participants must register for the series before the December 14 race.
• Online registration closes at midnight the night before each race.  
• Participants may also register in person on the day of any race from noon – 1:59 p.m.

2 p.m. | Race begins on Kanawha Ave SE behind the University of Charleston Pharmacy School Parking Lot

5k run/3k walk: UC > Kanawha Ave SE > 27th St SE > Frontage Rd > 29th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > 33rd St SE > Virginia Ave > turn around at 38th St SE and return via same route  

8k run /4k walk: UC > Kanawha Ave SE > 27th St SE > Frontage Rd > 29th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > 33rd St SE > Virginia Ave > 38th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > turn around at 47th St SE and return via same route  

10k run /5k walk: UC > Kanawha Ave SE > 27th St SE > Frontage Rd > 29th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > 33rd St SE > Virginia Ave > 38th St SE > Kanawha Ave SE > turn around at 54th St SE and return to UC via same route  

AWARDS

Awards will be presented for each age group: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
