CITY OF CHARLESTON JOB POSTINGS - ALL APPLICANTS MUST APPLY ONLINE

For the convenient and efficient receipt, review, processing and recording of City of Charleston employment applications, beginning February 1, 2016, all persons seeking employment with the City must submit an online application.  Unless reasonable accommodations are necessary and prior approval has been given from the Office of Human Resources, both existing City employees and prospective employees must apply online through the City career site portal to be considered for a posted position. Click here to access the City's career site portal. For any position posted after February 1, 2016, hard copy applications submitted by mail, email, facsimile or in person will no longer be accepted. Any applicant requiring reasonable accommodations that wishes to apply should contact the Office of Human Resources at (304) 348-8015.

To apply for a position, applicants must access the City?s career site portal at the link listed above and follow the instructions provided. Once an applicant establishes a profile, he/she will have the ability to apply for additional positions as openings become available, without calling or visiting the Office of Human Resources. As an optional feature, applicants will also have the ability to receive an email and/or text message alert whenever a new job is posted.

Internet access is available at most public libraries and at public Wi-Fi hot spots located throughout the City and many other locations.  Also, a self-service kiosk is located outside of the Office of Human Resources on the 3rd floor of City and is available during normal business hours. In order to apply for an opening, there must be a position available and a job opening posted on the City?s career site. The City does not accept unsolicited employment applications or general interest applications.
