Event: USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships | Junior Road Race (first race at 9 AM)

  • Kanawha Blvd, Clendenin St to Hale St

Kanawha Blvd closure to include Clendenin St to Wertz Ave. 

Access Info: 

  • Wertz Ave to California Ave: Westbound lanes and parking remain open  
  • Greenbrier St to Brooks St: limited access; local traffic unable to use an alternate route will be assisted through by CPD
    • On-street parking will not be permitted. Vehicles must be moved by 7:30 AM. Towing will be enforced.

    • Temporary two-way traffic (contraflow) between Washington St and Oakridge Dr  
    • Reduced speed limit: 25 MPH  
    • Normal traffic flow resumes at Oakridge Dr
  • Capitol St, Spyros Parking Lot entrance to Lee St
    • Temporary two-way traffic will be in place
    • Provides access to and from Summers St Parking Garage

      • Motorists needing to travel southbound (toward State Capitol) should continue north, turn around, and return south on Greenbrier St
    • Note: A contraflow lane will be in place on Greenbrier St between Washington St and Oakridge Dr (Speed limit reduced to 25MPH)
  • Oakridge Dr
    • Enter: Wertz Ave OR Rutledge Rd > Bakers Fork Rd > Oakridge Dr (Access from Greenbrier St will not be available)
    • Exit: Greenbrier St or Wertz Ave
    • Note: A contraflow lane will be in place on Greenbrier St between Washington St and Oakridge Dr (Speed limit reduced to 25MPH)
  • State Capitol Complex
    • Enter: Use Piedmont Rd to access the State Capitol Complex
    • Exit: Piedmont Rd > Sidney Ave > Washington St > Brooks St > Interstate
    • Note: A contraflow lane will be in place on Greenbrier St between Washington St and Oakridge Dr (Speed limit reduced to 25MPH)
  • Piedmont Rd, East Point Dr to Dry Branch Dr
    • Enter:
      • Access remains available via Piedmont Rd
      • Access from Kanawha Blvd/US-60 at East Point Dr will not be available
    • Exit:
      • Use Piedmont Rd > Tinkersville Dr > Campbells Creek Dr for access to US-60 and interstates
      • Alternatively, use Piedmont Rd > Snow Hill Dr > Kanawha Blvd for eastbound travel and interstate access
  • Four Points By Sheraton
    • Enter: Laidley St & Washington St
    • Exit: Laidley St > Washington St
  • Summers St Parking Garage
    • Enter: Washington St & Summers St > Summer St > Lee St > Capitol St
    • Exit: through Spyros lot > Capitol St > Lee St intersection 

PARKING

No on-street parking will be permitted on the Road Race route. 

  • Towing will be enforced beginning at 7:30 AM. 

City-Owned Garages/Lots

Available All Day: 

  • City Service Center – 915 Quarrier St
    • Beginning at 7 AM, parkers will need to access the garage via Washington St & Dickinson St with CPD assisting at Quarrier St and exiting to McFarland St to Virginia St with CPD assisting at Brooks St
  • Park Place Cinema – 612 Washington St
  • Shanklin Parking Garage - 501 Virginia St, E  
    • Beginning at 7 AM, parkers will need to access the garage via Washington St & Laidley St at direction of CPD
  • Summers St Garage – 166 Summers St  
    • Beginning at 5PM, the Summers St entrance/exit will close. Access will remain available via temporary two-way traffic on Capitol St

  • Municipal Auditorium Lot

  • Activities begin at City Center throughout the day.
  • Parking is available in the Summers St Parking Garage.
  • The Juneteenth Parade will stage on Donnally St.
    • Parade participants should be in place by 11:30 AM.
    • The parade is scheduled to begin at Noon
    • Parade Route: Martin Luther King, Jr Community Center > Donnally St > Court St (southbound lanes/toward river) > Quarrier St > Laidley St > City Center at Slack Plaza
