The City of Charleston/ Mayor’s Office of Economic and Community Development (MOECD) will be holding its final public meeting as it develops the City’s 2018-19 Annual Action Plan to guide the allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME funds, consistent with the City’s 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan.

This meeting will provide the public an opportunity to comment on the strategies and proposed use of funds. An allocation of nearly $1.8 million may be available to the City for CDBG and HOME activities. The City will allocate some of its CDBG funds to non-profit agencies for activities that benefit low and moderate-income people.

MOECD will publish the City’s proposed 2018-19 Annual Action Plan project list on March 16, 2018 and make the plan available for 30-day comment and review period. The Finance Committee will discuss the proposed project list at its second regular meeting in April 2018, City Council will take action on the Plan at its regular meeting on May 7, 2018 and the Plan will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on or about May 14, 2018.
