The Municipal Auditorium has been temporarily shut down due to critical electrical and structural issues that require immediate attention due to life safety concerns.
Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin issued the following TC Energy’s announcement it would move its office and 450 employees to Downtown Charleston.
The City of Charleston Office of Public Art is accepting submissions from Kanawha County students, grades K-12, for the 2024 Charleston Youth Art Month (YAM) Juried Exhibition at the City Service Center which will open on February 29 with a reception and awards presentation, and be on display March 1 – 31, 2024.

Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin delivered the State of the City address during this evening’s Charleston City Council meeting – celebrating successes; highlighting continued investments in the City; and outlined her vision moving forward – including four key projects: the Capital Sports Center, a new Municipal Auditorium, a new state-of-the-art public safety center, and a new fire/EMS headquarters to accompany improvements to fire stations.
