FestivALL Fall Opens

FestivALL Fall is underway in Charleston with several arts and culture events through the weekend. Most of the main events take place indoors or in places where traffic is not affected.

The only street closure related to FestivALL Fall events will be for the Charleston Main Streets’ Hops N Heat event at the East End Bazaar tomorrow afternoon. In preparation for the chili and craft beer showcase, Ruffner Avenue will be closed at 10 a.m. between Washington Street, East and Jackson Street. Drivers on Washington Street, East are urged to exercise caution in the area because of the number of people expected to attend the outdoor event.

Other main events during FestivALL Fall may have an impact on parking in areas where they are held, but should have limited impact on traffic:

  • The American Shakespeare Company presents “Taming of the Shrew” tonight at 7:30 at the Clay Center;
  • The Charleston Ballet presents “Classic, Country and Rock ‘n Roll” with dancers from the Columbia Classical Ballet both tonight (Friday) and tomorrow evening (Saturday) at 7:30 at the Civic Center Little Theater;
  • The annual Harvest Art Fair showcases works by more than 35 artisans tomorrow (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Women’s Club;
  • The annual Carriage Trail Leaf Walk features artisans along the Carriage Trail between 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday; and
  • Mountain Stage hosts a special FestivALL Fall show at 7 o’clock Sunday evening at the West Virginia Culture Center.
